The annual conference, where the findings of the 2025 research were presented, gave this question concrete answers, built around three themes.
The first is market performance: Operators have to plan in an increasingly unpredictable environment, where volumes, costs and demand change quickly.
The second is the evolving relationship between clients and logistics providers. These relationships increasingly resemble partnerships. Operational efficiency still matters, but so does the ability to make decisions together and adapt to change side by side.
The third is the mature adoption of AI in both operational and strategic processes. It is no longer a fringe experiment: it is becoming a working tool that companies are starting to base concrete choices on.
These three themes share one thing: today, logistics comes down to the quality of decisions. This is where Optit makes its contribution. For more than ten years, we have been optimising supply chains with AI, machine learning and advanced mathematics, combining consultancy, science and technology with a deep understanding of operations. We analyse the problem, build optimisation models, develop algorithms and integrate them into our clients’ processes.
The aim is to make decisions more agile, repeatable and scalable at every level of logistics, from strategic planning to day-to-day operations.
This approach comes to life in our work with partners and clients such as TESISQUARE and Number1 Logistics Group , whom we also met at the conference. For us, as for the whole sector, strong relationships are one of the drivers of real innovation.
We would like to thank Politecnico di Milano and everyone who took part in the discussion. We will keep moving in this direction, bringing logistics the tools to make the right decision, every day.
