Optit is a partner in ENABLE DHC, a European LIFE23-CET project that aims to transform district heating and cooling systems, making them more sustainable, flexible and efficient. The project involves 16 partners in 7 European countries, including Austria, Ireland, Croatia and Italy, and works on 9 case studies representative of different contexts.
In the project, Optit is tasked with defining investment strategies for the decarbonisation of the networks, using proprietary digital tools to build Digital Twins of existing infrastructure and simulate low-environmental-impact evolution scenarios.
Our contribution makes it possible to compare retrofit options and new infrastructure, supporting utilities in defining development plans aligned with European climate-neutrality goals.
ENABLE DHC promotes dialogue between operators, researchers and institutions to encourage the spread of best practice and multiply the impact of solutions developed at local level. A project about the future, and how to build it on scientific foundations.
Carried out with the contribution of the European Union’s LIFE programme No. 101167576 — LIFE23-CET-ENABLE DHC.
