The Upgrade DH Project comes to its end: an important contribution to the energy transition in the heating sector. On 30th September the UpgradeDH project eventually finished, after 41 months from its kick-off and just a few days from the final dissemination workshop “Towards efficient district heating and cooling in Europe”, attended by more than 90 participants. While the business and scientific community keeps advancing Research and Development towards more efficient, green and decarbonised DHC technologies and processes (4th and 5th generation), UpgradeDH was instrumental not to forget that we have an enormous potential to upgrade and improve the performance (and extension) of currently existing systems. Effective and actionable best practices have proven their effectiveness across 9 demo sites all over Europe, acting at generation, distribution and end users’ level, demonstrating that improving the performance of DHC systems is both effective and sustainable. It has been a fantastic professional and personal experience for us at Optit, that reinforces our mission to keep optimising performance of district energy systems. Optit is up to the challenge!
