{"id":41554,"date":"2026-07-07T11:53:59","date_gmt":"2026-07-07T09:53:59","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/optit.net\/progetto-finanziato\/minoa\/"},"modified":"2026-07-20T17:03:54","modified_gmt":"2026-07-20T15:03:54","slug":"minoa","status":"publish","type":"progetto-finanziato","link":"https:\/\/optit.net\/en\/funded-projects\/minoa\/","title":{"rendered":"MINOA"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The European MINOA project (Mixed-Integer Nonlinear Optimization: Algorithms and Applications), funded by Horizon 2020 and running from 2018 for <strong>four years<\/strong>, had as its main goal the training of <strong>12 highly qualified early-career researchers<\/strong> in the fields of mathematical optimisation, operational research and computer science.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Optit took part as an industrial partner, contributing to the development of applied projects in <strong>strategic sectors<\/strong> such as energy, logistics, engineering and data science.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The idea behind the project was to combine advanced mathematical approaches to tackle the <strong>complex problems<\/strong> of contemporary society, creating <strong>innovative solutions<\/strong> that are scalable and applicable at industrial level.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">MINOA connected universities, research institutes and European companies, offering researchers an <strong>integrated training pathway<\/strong>. The young people involved were able to develop interdisciplinary skills, moving between theory, algorithm development and real-world applications.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">With this project, Optit helped strengthen Europe\u2019s human capital base in a key field such as optimisation, encouraging the <strong>spread of advanced quantitative methods<\/strong> in industrial and decision-making contexts too.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><em>This project has received funding from the European Union\u2019s Horizon 2020 research and innovation programme under the
