Calling on more than 20 years of experience in the sector, Optit created a software solution based on advanced optimisation models that facilitate the design of waste collection and street cleaning services. The solution has been applied to many instances of solid waste and household waste collection. The result is the capacity to analyse numerous alternative scenarios in cases where a manual approach is particularly tedious, with a savings of 5–15% on both mileage and costs. The software, composed of various modules, can manage the entire life cycle of service design, from the enrichment of cartographic data to the analysis of waste production, from the scaling of the service to the generation of a single detailed route. Thus innovative concepts such as mutli-frequency, and in the future, the dynamic generation of collection routes based on signals from the field, can be handled by this software.
