The second event of the CAPACITY BUILDING program for stakeholders within the EU-LIFE SupportDHC project took place at the Politecnico di Milano.
The event, DECARBONIZATION OF ITALIAN DISTRICT HEATING: FOCUS ON TECHNICAL CHALLENGES, featured a presentation by our CEO (and Chair of the DHC+ Platform at Euroheat & Power), Matteo Pozzi, titled: “Optimization of Plant Management through Digitalization and AI: Solutions and Best Practices.”
The EU-LIFE SupportDHC project aims to concretely support district heating and cooling operators in developing hashtag#decarbonization plans to promote the use of low-temperature renewable energy (RE) and waste heat (WH).
The event provided an opportunity to explore some of the most relevant topics related to the development of efficient district heating, as well as to highlight the main barriers to its wider adoption. Sergio Bazzoli from Energard masterfully addressed these challenges in his speech, emphasizing the current urgency and favorable conditions to accelerate the energy system transition and implement concrete actions to mitigate global warming.
A special thanks to Paola Caputo (coordinating professor) from the Department of Architecture, Built Environment, and Construction Engineering (DABC) at the Politecnico di Milano for the excellent organization.
