On Friday, January 24, Optit’s headquarters in Bologna welcomed an engaging meeting with a group of PhD students as part of the second edition of #DOCABILITY 2, promoted by ART-ER S. cons. p. a. within the Ecosister project.
EcosistER brings together 23 partners, including six universities, four research institutions, and various public-private organizations based in Emilia-Romagna. The project promotes the Technology Transfer Innovation Programme (TTIP), aiming to enhance industrial research as a driver of sustainable economic development.
Within this framework, DOCABILITY provides training opportunities for PhD students, enabling them to engage with selected companies on industrial challenges related to sustainable transition.
The meeting at Optit was a valuable opportunity for dialogue between our team, represented by Luca Ferrari and Maria Francesca Colombo, and the participating researchers, focusing on the challenges of optimizing energy plants and networks.
We shared some operational approaches and engaged in creative problem-solving exercises, addressing key questions such as:
✅ How to integrate a digital twin into an established industrial process and the communication challenges involved
✅ #Decarbonization and emission reduction in energy-intensive industries, along with the economic impact
✅ #Optimization of investments in energy efficiency and strategies for a sustainable transition
This exchange allowed PhD students to gain a deeper understanding of industrial innovation dynamics, while for us at Optit, it was a valuable opportunity to gather new perspectives and methodological insights from the research world.
🔝 A huge thank you to ART-ER and DocKto: a mind set to explore, Maria Giulia Pezzi, PhD, Alain Marenghi, and Giulia Caponeri for organizing this fantastic initiative, and to all participants for their active engagement. Let’s continue working together for a more sustainable and innovative future!
