Optit participated in the 29th edition of the Dresdner Fernwärme-Kolloquium, a key event for the district heating sector that this year recorded a record attendance of over 450 participants and 60 exhibitors. Organized by AGFW and held at the World Trade Center in Dresden, the event provided an important platform for discussions on strategies for expanding and decarbonizing district heating networks in Germany and Europe.
Towards a More Sustainable and Digitalized District Heating
This year’s focus was on municipal heat transition planning, best practices for green heat generation, and the evolution of digitalized heat networks. Central topics included the need for strategic investments to support network growth and facilitate the transition to zero-emission energy supply. According to a recent study conducted by AGFW and VKU, more than €43 billion will be needed by 2030 to ensure the development of district heating infrastructures, with an additional €74 billion required by 2045.
